Are Hives A Side Effect Of Coming Off Dexamethasone?
My oncologist who Perscribed dexamethasone with revlimid for multiple myeloma. He told me that I should try to get off of the dexamethasone. I cut the dosage way back. So two days in a row I didn t take the dexamethasone and I have hives and itching all over?

If you were taking dexamethasone for more than 1 month, you must not stop it immediately. It can stopped after tapering the doses weekly.
Besides it is used for itching and hives which are not responding to antihistaminics, So there is no chance it could lead to that situation.
Thus you can taper dexamethsone dose 5 mg weekly and then stop.
You should consult your oncosurgeon for hives and itching.
