Are High BP And Low Heart Rate Related?

Last week I got a cortisone shot for allergy--itching all over. My blood pressure went up (highest 196/106), and my heart rate went down (lowest 50). Are these related? Heart rate was 58 this morning. BP is now about 145/85 when I wake up. My BP is usually normal.
