Are Disk Secretion At L3-4 Through L5-S1 And Mild Right Foraminifera Stenosis Serious Concerns?
I have been having lower back pain for over 4 weeks now. Physical therapy did not work. MRI shows disk secretion at L3-4 through L5-S1. Disk bulge extending to both neural foramina and mild facet hypertrophy. Mild right foraminifera stenosis. It has mass effect on the traversing right L5 nerve root in the lateral recess. WHAT ARE MY TREATMENT OPTIONS ??
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You are having something called disc prolapse in which the intervertebral disc prolapsed and compresses your nerve roots causing pain. Various treatment options are available. As a first line we can go for conservative measures like analgesics and exercises. If symptoms persist surgical correction may be needed. Consult an orthopedic and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
