Hello, and I hope I can help you today.

I am concerned that you may have a urinary tract infection rather than symptoms of labor at this point. The pain with urination and blood is very suggesting of this symptom. If left untreated, UTI's during pregnancy, especially at full term, can spread to your kidneys and cause potential complications for you and the baby. Fortunately, the labor and delivery unit at the hospital can test your urine and get you an answer quickly and treat you if necessary. They also can check a pelvic examination to see if you are in labor, and make sure the baby is OK.

So in summary, I suggest you go to the emergency room or the labor and delivery unit at the hospital to be evaluated right away.

I hope this answers your question and that my advice was helpful.

Best of luck with your pregnancy and delivery,

Dr. Brown
