Are Cold And Shortness Of Breath Symptoms Of Low Oxygen?
My mother went in for an outpatient procedure and the hospital alerted us that my mother had a oxygen level of only 84 they got it up to 86 and told us she should have this checked out by her family doctor right away. Mom has been feeling very tired and has flu like symptoms she is hot and cold and has shortness of breath can you tell us are these symptoms of low oxygen? She can t get into her internist until next week so we are looking for help so we can know what to expect. Also can you tell us what the treatment might be for this? We were shocked to learn to know she had this and are not sure how to procede? Any answers you can give us will would be helpful. Thank you.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. You need to take your mother to nearest hospital and provide proper respiratory support as she might have caught up with viral fever and lower respiratory tract infection. Her oxygen levels are indicating that she is in respiratory distress. Kindly contact a Chest Physician or Pulmonologist for proper evaluation and management.
