Are Chest Pains And Shortness Of Breath Due To MVP?
I was diagnosed with MVP in 1996 and have not had any follow up since the diagnosis. About 2 to 3 times a year I will get the severe chest pains, shortness of breath and the pain sometimes will radiate down my arm. For the last 2 years my feet turn bright red when standing and everyone always asks why. I am always cold especially my hands and feet. Does this mean my MVP is getting worse or is it a total different condition? I am 5 7 1/2 tall, 42 year old female, 128 pounds

As you are having MVP for past so many years,you should check echocardiogram every year for detecting any progression of leak of mitral valve.Your chest pain ,shortness of breath and Radiating pain in arms may be due to MVP.But other symptoms which your described are liley due to some other cause.First you must get ECG and Echocardiogram to decide about further course of action.
