Are Budecort And Asthalin Steroids And What Are The Side Effects?

Hi Dr. Sumit,

Below 2 medicines are suggested by my Dr for my 11 months kids suffering from cough and sour throught.

1. budecort

2. asthalin



Want to know, are these steriods and if yes then are these recommended and if yes what are the side effects.

Budecort inhaler is low dose inhaled corticosteroid. If you give in recommended dose by inhalation then it doesn't cause any side effect even if given for 6 months at a stretch
Asthalin inhaler is salbutamol which is a bronchodialator. It is not steroid.
These medicines are given commonly in children in cases of HYPERREACTIVE AIRWAY DISEASE AND CHILDHOOD ASTHMA with very good results
