Are Bruises On Buttock And Thigh With Swollen Leg Post A Fall A Cause For Concern?

I m taking eliquis (had afib but heart is back in sinus rhythm). Last week I fell down a couple of stairs and badly bruised my right hip. Bruise on butt and thigh seems to be healing (purple turning yellow & fading) but my lower leg seems a bit swollen and slightly bruised looking. Is putting ice on it enough?

Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, swelling legs post injury seems in relation with cellulitis changes from hematoma condition.

* Additional guidelines over and above ice application

- keep the leg elevated over 3-4 pillows support
- avoid prolong sitting with leg dependent position
- prescription of

@ analgesic with anti inflammatory properties as naproxen, diclofenac

@ proteolytic enzymes as serratiopeptidase

@ antibiotics as amoxycillin with clavulanic acid , cephalosporin or linezolid which covers gram positive bacteria in excellent way.
