Are Blood Pressure Pills Fatal?

My 80 year old Grandma s bloodpressure medication was finished, then she asked her son of 38 years old if she can drink he s bloodpressure pills, then she drink 10mg of it. Then half an hour she said to her son she is not feeling well, after a while he found her lying on the bed, short of breath, (Hart attack). a hour later she died in hospital. Reason doctors said she died of hart attact. But I think the wrong bloodpressure medication is the reason. She was so a healthy person, i just can t believe that it was just n heart attact. Doctor do you think that the wrong pills has something to do with her sudden death?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
Your grandmother died , this is very unfortunate . I want to tell you being as physician and doing practice for almost 35 years .
Your grandma was a patient of high blood pressure , such type of patient are usually prone to heart disease ( prone to heart attack ) .
2nd reason of heart attack in your grandma case was her age ( as she was > 80 years ) .
She was taking antihypertensive drugs , old age .
Please don't take it otherwise , most of heart attack occurs silently and kills patient at once .
Hope you will satisfy .
Good luck.
