Are Abrasions Inside The Vagina Post A Hysteroscopy Normal?

I had a laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis, ovarian drilling, and a hysteroscopy polypectomy on the 14th and being someone who carefully monitors her fertility and cervix, about 3 days after the procedures I passed a small piece of tissue so I got curious and after washing my hands I checked my cervix and the half of it facing my vaginal opening feels very scabbed up and just NOT like my normal smooth cervix and my obgyn s office is closed right now and I would like to know if this is a normal occurrence after this procedure cause it s still just as bad little over a week after my procedures, I m worried my cervix has been damaged and won t function the way it should for cervical fluids for getting pregnant and for carrying/birthing a baby...

Hello,

Minor abarasion can happen while performing hysteroscopy and colposcopy. Nothing much to worry and it will heal by itself with out any particular treatment. Watch for any signs of infection and in that case you may require antibiotics to tackle the infection. Otherwise no treatment is required.
