Hello!,

Would agree with you on the fact that considering your blood pressure values, there is no need to start with a lot of drugs.

For this reason, I would recommend starting just with Metoprolol and Olmesartan and see if your blood pressure will normalize after a week.

If after a week your blood pressure values are still high, I would recommend adding amlodipine 5mg to your therapy and increase the dose up to 10 mg after a week, if high blood pressure values still persist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. Tushar Kanti Biswas's  Response
Hi,

Olmesartan, amlodipine besylate, metoprolol tartrate, triamterene/HCTZ are standard drugs for the treatment of hypertension. Your doctor would be the judge for prescription of a combination of antihypertensive drugs to achieve control of BP. Your BP is close to ideal BP.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
