Are Fucidin And Hydrocortisone 1% Good For Bump?

Hi Doctor, i have had a bump on my piercing (cartilage) for a few months now. I have been applying tea tree oil while keeping it clean but with no success. I would not want to loose it, just fix it. I heard that Fucidin cream can help, is that true?? I also heard that hydrocortisone 1% can help settle it. Please advise.

Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
If you have redness, tenderness or mild discharge suggestive of a bacterial infection, fucidin would help. You can add hydrocortisone cream to the same to reduce the local reaction. But do not use the hydrocortisone alone as it can worsen a bacterial infection.
The best advice for you would be to see a dermatologist or GP and have yourself examined and treated.
Do get back to me if you have further queries.
