Snoring is a normal phenomenon. But if it is associated with any underlying sleep breathing disorder, then it can be a symptom of that disease, so we consider habitual loud snorer as a risk factor for sleep apnea syndrome. To further quantify the risks of Sleep apnea, you can take a test of Epworth's sleepiness scale or Berlins questionnaire , and if its results comes out to be suggestive you may consult a sleep specialist for detailed evaluation for Sleep apneas. Regular Nightmares may be suggestive of excessive anxiety, so if anxiety is there, the methods to relax ones mind such as meditation may be helpful
