The bump has grown since this morning, it went from a little bigger then a toonie to 3 times the size. It is not protruding but seems to be growing in diameter. He was nauseous this morning and has had a head ache all day. His head ache isa migraine now. The bump has not changed colors but it is tender to the touch. Any suggestions?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
I suspect it be due to infection.
It may be due to orbital cellulitis.
Because he have tenderness in addition to headache and pain.
It is a acute infection and an emergency condition because of rapid spread and tissue destruction.
It is uncommon in this age but possible.
Please consult your treating physician.
He may recommend some investigations like blood test, total count, differential count and CT and MRI.
He may prescribe some antibiotics and pain killers for infection and pain.

Hope this helps.
Please write back for further queries.
