Any Advise For Splotchy Skin On Stomach That Reduces On Using Selsun Blue?
Hi. I m a 21 year old male who has been trying to figure out what is going on with my skin on my stomach. I have noticed that when I begin to get more tan, the skin on my stomach splotches. Some parts of the skin look more tan then others and the parts that are not are very splotchy. My mom said my dad had this when he was about my age and used selsum blue to clear it up. I have tried this and it seemed to have worked but I have noticed that it still there. Any advice?
Hi, I can understand your concern for the splotchy skin on stomach that reduces on using selsun blue. After reading your history I can make out the possibility of Fungal infection known as "Pityriasis versicolor" of the area. It appears as flaking and splotchy area of skin.
Do not pinch, pop or scratch the area. Keep the area dry and wear cotton clothes. Change the clothes two time a day. Do not get exposed to extremes of environment and protect yourself from heat and humidity.
I suggest you to apply plane anti-fungal cream such as clotrimazole or ketoconazole. Take fluconazole 150 mg alternate days for 15 days. Do not apply any mixed cream or mixed ointments as it causes further aggravation of the problem.
Take care.
