Anxiety attacks, depression after witnessing several deaths. Cure possible?

i only recently found out what is wrong with me, is called anxiety attack. it happen at a funeral after several deaths have happen. it stopped, but now it started and my doctor says i am lacking iron psychiatrist says i m depressed. i thought i was crazy. but i have been through this about 9 yrs ago and drs said it is my mind playing tricks on me.i lived in fear of it returning. it did. it is more fearful to not know what s wrong and if there is a cure. can i be cured

Thanks for the excellent question. Let me try to give you as complete an answer as I can. Anxiety and depression march hand in hand quite often. After suffering a life trauma (as you did) one can develop anxiety, depression, or both. These are treatable, and sometimes, though not always, curable. Medication and psychotherapy will help with your panic and anxiety symptoms. Seek out a mental health professional (a psychiatrist is best) as soon as possible. Best of luck and good health to you. Thanks for your query. I can understand your concern. It is possible that you are experiencing symptoms of anxiety disorder which is secondary to stressful life events. However, you require a thorough psychiatric evaluation focusing on the duration, intensity and frequency of anxiety symptoms. In addition, if you are anemic, you would require iron supplements since anemia can precipitate anxiety symptoms. Anti-anxiety drugs and psychotherapy (eg cognitive behavioural therapy) can help you in this regard. Yoga and breathing relaxation exercises can be tried by you initially. My family MD has retired after caring for me since i was 21 of age. I am now 47. I was dx with Depression and Panic disorder in my mid 30 s. I have a new MD now in which she has told me my current medications I have been taking for over 12yr is no longer safe. However my panic disorder is manageable even though at times I still have a Panic attack without warning. I currently take Prozac 40mg a day and Xanax 2mg 3 times a day. I was extensively elevated by a psychiatry MD and Dx which was in my early 30 s after all medical problems had been ruled out as a root cause of my symptoms. My current MD states I could have seizures, possible heart attach by taking off current medications and I should never have been on Xanax and at the dose I take to manage my panic.????? I suffer from heart palpations in or close to 200, feel like i can t breath, maybe having heart problems, server tremors/shaking of my whole body, feel dizzy, I feel disconnected and sense of going just crazy, impeding dread I just feel like I will die at any moment. They last sometimes between 5-10 mins. What is horrible is they come sometimes without warning and I feel i just have to escape and just get home. She wants me to been seen by psychiatrist because she says family MD can longer tx for these disorders mainly my Panic Disorder cause of Xanax and my dosage. I have had increased anxiety since this recent change last month and really doing my relaxation tech which have helped some. Any suggestions, because my psychiatrist who dx me said there is no cure I have to manage it however with that said it has been some years ago.

I have been feeling a wierd pain on the back of my head for the last 4-5 days. I went to the Dr. on sunday and she looked over me and told me we had to get a blood test to better look at how i am doing. Today I i got home around 3pm and jumped in the shower. As I am taking a hot shower I feel my heart start beating faster and faster. At this point im freaking out not wanting to faint or something so i turn off the water and start to get ready. I go to the DR. right away. I wait about 20 min to be seen. I am seen by a different Dr. than I was seen on Sunday. I tell him how I been feelings and he does a heart test at first. EKG or something like that. After the test he tells me that my heart is fine. They then take my blood. He told me the results should be in by Friday. He prescribed Alprazolam 0.25MG. Does this seem like an anxiety attack do you guys? or something else?

The other night I woke up with chest pain and throat pain. I tried to relax and did deep breathing. After about 15 mins the pain went away. I do have depression and anxiety and difficulty sleeping. I experienced this same thing a little over 2 years ago and went to the ER. They did all kinds of tests and basically said it was due to anxiety and at that time I was dealing with several stressors. A f/u with a cardiologist went well and I was told my heart was healthy.

My daughter is currently taking Paxil for anxiety and severe OCD. She recently found out that she is pregnant. She has been on 30 mg. for about 4years. She was told to take 10 mg. twice a day for a week and then 10 for one week. She could not deal with the change.
What alternative drug could she take that is safe. Her OCD's and anxiety are pretty intense without the Paxil. Thank you for your time.
