Hello. Today I was playing catch with a football at football practice. We were just running simple routes no pads or anything. As I was running my ankle slipped from under me and bent all the way inward. At first the pain was unbearable but now it is manageable I can walk on it but it hurts when I do that so I have been trying to avoid it. The side of my foot also has this achy burning sensation that goes and comes. I would really appreciate it if you could help me on this one.

Hi, I slipped on a wet floor about 3 weeks ago and thought I sprained my ankle slightly but I now see a red swollen circle in the middle of my top foot. I also have a couple of bumps (look like little knots) running down from my big toe down top of foot. It aches a bit when I am lying down in bed and I wake up with the ache in the morning. Once I get moving it doesn t ache as much but the top of my foot is burning. If I roll it it hurts on the inside of my foot near the ankle. I don t have a problem walking but I can feel that it is not quite right. Do you think I have break or a fracture? Thanks
I sprained my right ankle 4 weeks ago. i jumped up to catch a ball and when I came down, my foot rolled inward. It swelled up all around my ankle, my foot and toes and halfway up my calf. It also bruised from right below my toes to the middle of my calf with the worst bruising just below the outside of my ankle and a little more than the foot did on the inside of my ankle. I elevated, iced and put an ace bandage on it. I saw my primary doctor 5 days after it happened and he said he thought it was a Grade III sprain. He sent me for an x-Ray which ruled out a fracture. He told me to use crutches and to stay off of it. After two weeks he put me in a boot. I have been laid up now for 4 weeks and only walk on it with the boot as necessary which hasn t been much. I have throbbing and burning pain in my outer ankle and heel and it is tender to the touch on the outer ankle and tender with pressure on the inside of my ankle. Is this normal or should I have it re-examined? How much longer should I stay off of it?
Hi. I sprain my ankle playing roller derby four months ago. I foolishly did not rest it properly when I first did it, but I did use a cold compress at the time of injury. The following day I had an egg sized swell on my outer ankle bone. I continued to play roller derby at least once a week, avoiding certain moves which enhance the permanent mostly low level pain I suffer. I have not seen a doctor, because I convinced myself that it was just a sprain and it will get better eventually. I stopped doing most other forms of exercise when I got the injury, because of the pain, but roller derby is my life, and have found it impossible not to take part except for a four week rest period the whole team have had over Christmas. Of course I thought my ankle would fix itself during this time, but actually it feels worse some days. There is a constant almost burning sensation over the ankle bone which hugely intensifies and take hours to settle if I accidently put pressure on my ankle, for example, crouching down to pick something up with my foot flat on the floor, or walking down stairs. It has always be most uncomfortable at bedtime, throughout the night and mild (ish) and irritating pain often wakes me up several times. So I guess this problem is not just going to go away now and you are going to advise me to see a doctor, right?! It may be worth mentioning that a visit to the doctors where I live cost £40 each time, and I guess another reason for not going to see my doctor is the belief that I would have had to visit several times with this problem, and it still not being cured! Does this injury just sound like an aggravated sprain?
I hit my ankle with the corner of my van door. It hurt right away and felt bruised, but after being on it all day it is very swollen and I can t put pressure on it because it is very painful. I tried ice and an ace bandage, but doesn t seem to be better. Any suggestions?
i dislocated my ankle (right leg)... how long it take to get recovered and be normal to walk. Its been two months by now. The doc suggested me to put weight gradually on the leg, but i still have minor swelling and using crepe bandage in the day time.
Hello Doctor, I have a Boxer s fracture. My local doc advised to go for plaster or crepe bandage. I prefer crepe badage. However he mentioned that do not wear the crepe bandage during sleep. Is there any problem in wearing during sleep? What other advice you provide? Thank you, Shinokumar
Six months ago, I was dancing (I know it is isn t a sport, but my injury is close), and I was doing a full split while I slipped and split fully and too fast. Since then, on my left leg, I have been experiencing pain whenever I stretch . This pain is localised to one long line from my groin to mid-thigh, on the inner side of the leg. I would like to know if the injury is serious, what type of doctor I should consult, and if muscle relaxants (like Moov and Volini) will help, along with hot and cold foamentation and wrapping the injured area with a crepe bandage .
