Among Carvedilol, Clonidine And Pravastatin Which One Is Causing Difficulty In Urination?

I recently had a heart attack and was prescribed three medications carvedilol, clonidine and pravastatin one of these bad boys is causing me to have troubles going to the bathroom. I need relief. heard about Colace is it ok for me to take and can I take it daily.

Hello,

The likely culprit for your constipation would be clonidine, which can cause constipation in 1 to 10% of patients.

I would let your doctor know that you are having this side effect and hopefully, the medication can be stopped and something else started in its place, or perhaps the Carvedilol dose can be increased.

Taking Colace would be safe and you could take it daily until you are having soft, regular bowel movements daily.
