Am i doing the right treatment for hypothyroid ?

Im a 45 year old male recently diagnosed with hypothyroid. My tsh was 129 and I was prescribed 50 mcg of levothyroxine and have taken it for 1 month. I was just retested and my tsh came back at 71. I now have a prescription for 75mcg levothyroxine. I want to know if my Dr is doing the right thing-or should my tsh be dropping faster?

The normal course of medication is to start with the lowest dose i.e. 50mcg/day and increase or adjust
the dosing every 3-4 weeks until normal metabolism
is steady, your TSH level remained too high with 50mcg/day dose, so your Doc increased it to 75mcg,
by the way normal TSH value is 0.3-3(before 2003 it was
0.4-6) your doctor will adjust your dosing till all is steady and well.
