Age 70 male, over-weight, cardio-pulmonary hypertension. Have tried statins and they tend to make me more irritable to others (I'm pretty mild, easy going personality). Have given up on statin. Still taking primary drug of Spironolactone 25mg to keep water weight off. LDL is moving upward, chloresterol now getting close to 200. When is best time to take, at night before bed to sleep on it; pre or during meal; no food, just drink lots of water.

Hi, me and my wife have appointment to see her doctor tomorrow. The nurse told her she has pulmonary hypertension. My is currently very active and might be a few pounds over weight. She also has crohn disease. I noticed the last time she got a little shortage of breath coming up the stairs and she complained of being tired sometimes. I have noticed that she sometimes snooze when she sleeps and hardly sleep a solid 4 hours without waking up during the night. I m sacred and so is she. Can pulmonary hypertension be reversed or manage with proper weight loss, stress life style, exercise, medication. I m a police officer and go out and help and save people s lives everyday and I find myself helpless trying to save my wife. Any thing positive we be deeply appreciated. Thanks You for your time! Female 63 years of age. I have pulmonary hypertension number of 49 and a moderate leak in my heart. I use a c-pap machine regularly. I have been diagnosed with adult onset asthma. I have been through a round of pulmonary therapy and loved being active again. I did not loose weight. I am probably 30 lbs heavier than I was a decade ago. I am trying and will continue to do so. My pulmonary doctor is ordering a ct of my lungs. What could he be looking for aside from lung cancer , bloodclot or restrictive lung disease - pulmonary stenosis(?) This is my first diagnosis of any illness - I have been pretty healthy all my life. THis has scared me - the doctor said I should be concerned but not scared. I am not on any meds for any of this - I take synthroid and Prilosec. He knows I am afraid and said to stop thinking about restrictive lung disease that there are other things he is looking at. Ideas? I am not going to get fearful but I do like to have something to process.
