Dear Respected Doctor( Cardiologist) My mom 63, diabetic for 20 yrs, with normal cholestoral and normal BP ( on medication for Heart, BP , Cholesterol ) underwent a routine test at Elbit diagnostic in Bangalore. The test was positive. Consulted a doc at CMC who is a cardio and also assists diabetic patients. He asked for ECG inspite of TMT positive and mentioned that it is reqd for diabetic patients. The ECG was normal and he didn t refer to TMT or probably missed it and said everything is fine. When we consulted a cardio at Columbia Asia, he mentioned Angiogram is required. Also when the TMT was done on 23rd Dec my mom was not up to it. Does the TMT show positive when you can t walk on the Tread Mill ( as you are not used to walking ) for long or are tired. Is TMT a good indication for blocked arteries or any other test is required. She is normal otherwise and has no complaints about breathlessness. Please advise if angio is required or we can wait and what is the recovery period after angio if the arteries are fine. Pls advise. Thanks N Regards Ranjita
