Hi Docs, really hope you can help in my case.
I am 40 yrs male, who went through FESS surgery as my sinus required them. Two ENTs had suggested the same. During the FESS, the Dura was exposed and caused CSF leak on the left side, Same was attended to during the procedure with Fascia taken from my thigh. The surgery was done 20 days ago, and have taken the medications and followed their advise towards bed rest and no strain to the letter. Yesterday(19 days after fess) i had a sudden severe headache which continued for a few hrs. In the middle of the night i felt liquid trickling down my left nostril and throat. I spat out the stuff after gulping and sucking into my mouth. It was a thick sticky brown colored stuff, and substantial quantity. After the brown stuff came out, my headache went away. But i am now unsure as to what happened and what was that stuff that came out. Also after that incident i am experiencing foul smell and taste is also foul. Smell and taste is almost like rubber. There does not seem to be any clear drops of CSF falling out of my nostrils , however- stick clear liquid does collect inside my left nostril daily which dries up within a day and can be removed. Is this CSF liquid which might be collecting inside. Also what was that brown stuff that came out. I have again been put on heavy antibiotics . Pl advise.
