Advise On The Repeated Hydrocephalus In Male Fetus

Hi, My name is Damodara Jyostna 33 yrs, I am from Hyderabad INDIA. My medical history is i got married at 22 yrs when i was pregnant at 20 weeks the fetous had Hydrocephalus, so i consulted the doctor they have aborted the pregnancy through normal delivery, the fetous is Male. After 6 months i conceived again and this time i delivered a healthy Female baby by normal delivery. Know my age is 32 yrs and my child age is 5 years so we have planned for the second kid and again same problem occured. When i went for scan in the month of 5th they diagnosed that the fetous had severe Hydrocephalus. So i opted the abortion and they terminated through normal delivery. The fetous is Male this time also. My query is why this is happening in male fetous, not in Female. And also why this problem occurred twice with the same manner. DO we plan for the other child in near future or not if we plan and again it occured then i cant imagine, i want the second kid. Is there any medical procedure to undergo, Please suggest me, i dont know who to consider for this. I am desperately waiting for your suggestions. Thanks, Damodara Jyostna YYYY@YYYY

Hello Welcome to Health Care Magic.
you and your partner should under go karyotyping. it is a genetic check up for parents. there are chances of some X-link recessive disorder. for female it is xx combination and it is not precipitating in to disease.and for boy it is xy combination and for both the time they had hydrocephalus. you need genetic counselling. if you both are carrier than high chances of getting male hydrocephalus again.

Hope this information helps you.
Best wishes
