I have a knot on the inside of my left arm. it starts near the upper part of the bend of the elbow. I had a pain when I straighten my arm this afternoon. It is tender, same color as my skin and is about the size of a fifty cent piece. Should I see my doctor and what could it be.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

Based on your description, most possibly it could be an enlarged lymph node due to some infection or inflammation in the lower part of that hand.

A detailed and direct clinical examination is needed to arrive at a correct diagnosis of your problem.

I suggest you to consult your family physician for further evaluation and management.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
