Advice For Lower Abdominal Pain And Bulky Uterus

Name-Renu,Age-42,Wt-66,Pain in lower abdomen for last two years.Having two child daughter age 16, son age 12 with normal delivery.As on date B.P-140/90, BIOOD Report-W.B.C-10800/Cumm,Neutrophils-70%,Lymphocytes-24%,Monocytes-2%,Eosinophils-4%,Basophils-0%,Haemoglobin-80%,ESR-8.5mm/hr average,ABO Group-A,Rh-+ve,VDRL-Negative,HIV i&ii-Negative,Hbs Ag(Elisa)-Negative,URINE CULTURE-No growth of any micro org.URINE Analysis-All normal,THYROID TEST-T3-102,T4-9.2,TSH-2.4.ULTRA SOUND REPORT-UTERUS-Measures 10.8*6.4*6.1 cm suggestive of bulky uterus.Endometrial thickness measures 10.3mm. No evidence of any collections or lymphadenopathy.IMPRESSION-USG ABDOMEN AND PELVIS REVEALS BULKY UTERUS. Kindly suggest what measures to be taken,Is operation required.What medecene and remady you suggest. Husband Blood -o+,VDRL-Negative,HIV-Negative,Hbs Ag-Positive .My mail YYYY@YYYY . Thanks.

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Usually treatment is not needed just for bulky uterus without any symptoms.
Bulky uterus can be seen in parous women.
You didn't mention on which day of the menstrual cycle you underwent the ultrasound.
Endometrial thickness of 10.3 mm is usually seen second half of the cycle.
If you are having any associated features like vaginal discharge, smell etc, there is possibility of pelvic infection.
Early stages of pelvic infection may not be detected in ultrasound.
So, if physical examination reveals signs of infection, go for antibiotics.
If there are no signs of infection, get evaluated for gastrointestinal causes.
