Abrasion In The Eye With Redness, Bumpy And Speeding Closer To The Pupil
My sons right eye is red it has been for about a week. I took him into to the doc . Not pink eye they said he had an abrasion......since he said he had been eating pretzels and salt went in his eye and he rubbed it! They gave him an antibiotic which we had a reaction to he developed a rash under both eyes back of neck and arms. His eye is red not the whole eye only the left side of his right eye! Looks a bit bumpy and it seems like its speeding closer to the pupil! I also noticed that on his left eye right next to the pupil it s looking a bit bumpy and a tiny bit red:(
Dear Micharey9, Thank you for asking the question. Firstly I would advise you to stop the antibiotic which you think might have caused your son to develop the rashes and report the same to the doctor who treated him. A change in antibiotic might have to be considered and this is for your doctor to decide. From the description of only part of his right eye being red along with a small bump, I conclude that the bump is either due to episcleritis or pinguicula. In both cases after the corneal abrasion in his right eye has healed you should also get him treated further on for the other condition/s as the case might be
Dear Sir/Mam
This might be because of antibiotic allergy or because of trauma per se. you have not mentioned the antibiotic. Better contact a nearby ophthalmologist.
