Abnormal Heart Rate, Underweight. Family History Of Thyroid Problems. Done Cataract Surgery. Opinion?
My heart rate has been around 58 for a very long time. I ve just had cataract surgery and my heart rate was about 45. I ve measured it a few times at 48 to 50 over the last few months. I m 67 and since I retired several years ago I ve put on about 15 lbs but I am still under weight for my height-always have been. My mom has passed a few goodies on to me and I believe she was on thoroxin for a long time. Whatca think?
The first step is to see a Cardiologist Probably, it is a degenerative disease of the conduction system... / occasionally from ischemia HOLTER (24 to 48 hour ambulatory monitoring) / ECHOcardiogram / TMT (Treadmill exercise ECG) / LABORATORY work-up – may all be necessary for further assessment and assistance. You may even need Electro Physiological Studies (EPS) You may ultimaately need a pacemaker... This super-speciality expert is called ELECTRO-PHYSIOLOGIST. The treating doctor may suggest them depending on need, based on his assessment of the situation.
Take care Wishing all well God bless Good luck
