Abdominal pain, scan shows bulky anterverted uterus, intra uterine fetus. What does it mean?
hi my last lmp was on 21/06/12. the next month passed and i had pain in the low abdomen , so i went to the hospital where they adviced for a scan, since i told them on the other scan it was written early formation of fibroids and i wanted to determine whether those have disappeared as i finished an antibiotic course. the second scan results: bulky anterverted uterus with an intra uterine fetus , both adnexa area normal. gs= 26.0mm 6w6d, p=100%, 1 fr254, cyesis 6wk, tpd= 21.03.13. what does it mean? loniah

Your sonogram report shows that you have a viable 6-7 weeks pregnancy. There is no remark about the fibroids that were noted in the earlier sonogram. You need to correlate this with your menstrual calender if you have regular cycles and also through clinical evaluation. A trans-vaginal sonogram is ideal in this situation to know the status of the pelvic organs, especially the endometrial cavity, better. Since you have used an antibiotic, this should be reported to the specialist as a watch must be made in future for anomalies. Hope this helps.
