But your mother now needs a clinical examination and investigations like an X-Ray. Fracture of femur is commonly seen in old people after a fall. You should take her to the hospital and get her clinically examined by an Orthopedic surgeon. There might be a soft tissue injury which will respond to pain killer like Ibuprofen one tablet twice a day after meals along with an antacid like Omeprazole 20 mg. and a muscle relaxant like chloraxazone.
