8 Weeks Pregnant. Ultrasound Showed Abnormal Heartbeat. What Does This Mean?
Hi Dr. Im 8 weeks pregnant. My first Trans US, they found abnormal heartbeat of my baby. In the second and third US, no more heartbeat. Does that mean that my baby is already dead. Im scheduled to have other US tomorrow and if they cant find the heartbeat I will undergo D&C. Is there anymore hope of the heartbeat to go back? pls help. Thank you.

I am sorry to hear about the ultrasound result.
Unfortunately, there is no likelihood of the heart beat going back to normal. I would not want to give you any false hopes.
If the scan was done by an experienced ultrasonographer, there should be no doubt about the result. They probably want to be absolutely sure. That is why they have scheduled another ultrasound.
