8 Months Old Baby Diagnosed With The Beginnings Of Bronchitis
my 8 month old was diagnosed with the beginnings of bronchitis and was given an antibiotic shot to last him through the weekend and then we will be filling a prescription for an antibiotic tomorrow for the week, the doctor did a chest x-ray to make sure if was nothing more and his oxygen absorption was at 98-99% but I m not sure if he should go back to daycare tomorrow there is no fever and has not been for 48 hours...?

Read your prob, bhronchitis is a allergic reaction of lungs. there is no role of antibiotic in such type of condition. you should give him asthelin syp or nebulization with asthelin as per advise of your doc. give him antiallergic drug also. do not worry more then 95% of oxygen saturation considered as normal.

basically its an alergic problem. if he is better can send him to the day care. but its better you send him after he gets well completely. jus symptomatic treatment with cough syrups is good enough for him.

You may try the following home remedies for your son's present state of sufferings to bring best possible results:
1. Add 10 drops of fresh ginger juice in half tea spoon honey and make him to lick it.
2. Boil 10 Holy Basil leaves in one litre of water and store the water in Thermos flask. Let your son drink this water only and avoid giving plain water.
3. Boil quarter tea spoon turmeric powder in a cup of milk and give him to drink once a day.
Also, take your doctor's advice and treatment besides above home remedies to keep your son healthy. Take care and God bless your family with good health!
