67 yr old female, fell and tore right rotator cuff

67 yr old female, fell and tore right rotator cuff in May, have had extensive physical therapy, gone to surgeon, inoperable to repair, only possibility is replacement of "ball and socket". Currently receiving cortisone shots in shoulder that are helping but bicep swells and have a lot of pain, already on percocet for extensive arthritis thru out whole body but this is stabbing pain. Put lidocaine ointment and ace bandage to relieve some of pain but there is now bruising showing in the upper arm where the pain is. Yes I do regular house hold duties as I have recently retired but when the pain is sharp, I have to stop. Over the counter ibuprofen 200 mg but need to know is there something else I can take. Thank you.

My 95 year old mother fell in her bedroom, hitting the carpet on her right side. She hit her hear pretty hard on right side and face and eye very swollen. Dr. took xrays of shoulder and arm and no broken bones. He checked her eyes and all OK. That was six weeks ago. She complains of ear aches on which ever side she tries to sleep on during the night. She has no ear pain except on the side which is against the pillow. Could she have had a concussion? She is more tired than usual during the day but of course isn t sleeping very well due to ear aches and arm pain (having therapy for that - rotator cuff injury, we are told). What is causing the alternating ear pain when lying on each side? Thank you for your help.
