51 Yr Old Having Heart Flutters While Lying Still, No Pain, Cough To Stop It. Reasons ?

I am a 51 yo healthy female. I have been having heart flutters for several years now . . . happens mostly when I am lying still, although it just occurred while working (sedentary job). When it happens, I will generally start coughing to make it stop. Not sure why it happens . . . does not cause pain. Do you have an explanation for this?

Hi,
There are many reasons for such flutters. It is called as palpitation.
I advice you to consult a doctor and preferably take an ECG during the attack. Any change in the heart rate or rhythm can cause this.
All the best.
