5 Year Old Child Suffering From Fever, Sore Throat, Skin Rash Or Arms, Legs, Face. Contagious Condition?

My 5 year old son woke up Monday morning with 100-101 fever .....had it all day. Monday afternoon complained that his throat hurt a bit, but not too bad. Tuesday morning, still sore throat , but no fever. Today (Wednesday), still has a bit of a sore throat, but know has a rash on his arms, hands, legs, butt and face -- nothing on his chest or back. Like a bit like a pimple ....doesn t seem to itch too much. HELP!!! His older sister is getting married in a couple of days and we are worried about him being contagious and not being able to attend the wedding.

hello, based on what you have written,i feel your son may have an exanthematous fever--fever with a rash.this can be due to many viral infections like chicken pox, measles, infectious mononucleosis.he may spread infection to others around him.please see a pediatrician asap.you can give him acetaminophen for the fever.i hope he gets well soon and attends his sisters wedding. dr praveen.
