5 Year Old. Dog Kissed, Cried. Should Rabies Vaccine Be Given?

my 5 yr old grandniece played with a puppy, no scratches as far as we know, but the dog kissed her on the cheek, and she went to the park, cried cos she didnt want to leave the park. being asthmatic, she became snotty while crying, she wiped off her tears and blew her nose . but we washed her hands thoroughly when we got home. do we give her a rabies vaccine? worried that dog s saliva got mixed in there with the tears and the snot and the dirt on her hands while playing at the monkey bars and swings.

HI Dear you 5 year old baby got kissed by dog,if the dog is pet one and you can keep an eye on the dog for a week ,time and baby had no abrasions,(curt mark),nothing to worry,no need for rabies vaccine, but if the dog is not pet one,and you cannot keep an eye on the dog it is better to give the vaccine since the dog has kissed on face,if there would be minor abrasion,it would come in class three injury,so go for vaccine.

Hello
Thanks for the query
First whether your dog has been vaccinated properly or not. If your dog is not vaccinated or vaccinated incompletely then ideally your grandniece should be vaccinated for rabies. Watch the dog for 10 days, if he is okay then no need of fourth dose of vaccine. ARS is also not needed in this condition.
I hope this answers your query effectively
