5 Months Pregnant, Weird Smell From Pores, Had Similar Smell Even Before Getting Pregnant
Hello! My 20 year old sister is about 5 months pregnant but she just told me recently that there is a weird smell coming from her pores and she is freaking out about. She said that before she got pregnant it happen too but not as much as now. She is very clean person, washes herself like 2 times a day. I just thought that I could give her some piece of mind until her appointment! Please help!
Hi, Thanks for the query. Usually during pregnancy vaginal discharge increases physiologically. Physiological vaginal discharge doesn't contain any smell generally. So, better to consult gynecologist once and get examined to rule out any possibility of infection. As immunity decreases in pregnancy, there is some increased risk of infections. If doctor recommends go for vaginal swab culture and sensitivity. By this the possible causative organism and its sensitivity to drugs can be identified. If there is no evidence of infection, no need to worry. Taking nutritious diet, continuing twice a day bath, using cotton inner wear can help to some extent. Take care.
