5 month child having cough and bumps near ear. What could be causing this? lil 5 month old girl has a lil ball i think it might be a lil vein its about 1 inch away from her left ear she didnt have this two days ago ....i noticed it cause she has been scratching her self alot there like it seems to bug her..... wat do u think this might be ......ooh she has also been coughing alot lately???

Most probably this could be a post auricular lymph node .since this baby has been scratching there is a chance of some dermatitis on the scalp or as said the child has some upper respiratory tract infection .so these could be the reason why the lymph node has become palpable due to drainage of infection or due to reactive lymphadenitis
