4 Year Old, Blood In Stool, Fever, Diarrhea. What Could Be This?

My 4yr old son had blood in his stool one week ago today then 5 days after he was throwing up with a fever and has had a fever come and go since (3 days) and he also has diarrhea. I was wondering if any of this has anything to do with the blood in his stool? I had blood work done (cbc test) on Friday but did not get the results back yet, was wondering what to do. thanks

Pediatrician 's  Response
hi ! any child having loose motions associated with blood, mucus or fever is believed to have acute dysentry . get his stool test done . he will need an antibiotic course along with supportive medicine which includes antiemetic, prebiotic & probiotic, an antacid & an antipyretic to get over this episode. consult your paediatrician for the same. take care.
