4 Month Old Has Fever, Given Infant Motrin. Will That Cause Any Harm?

My 4 month old was running a 102 fever and all the store had was infant Motrin so I gave him 1.25ml based on his weight. Now everyone is telling me that it s dangerous because he isn t 6 months and to never give him that again till 6 months. Is he going to be ok. He had it a total of 4 times between Friday and Saturday?

Hi

Don`t worry Ibuprofen in therapeutic doses is not dangerous to the infant.

How ever the safest drug for fever in children is Acetaminophen (Paracetamol) given in dosage of 15mg/kg/dose, four times a day.

Hope my answer helps you.
