37+3 Weeks Pregnant Having Menstrual Like Cramping With Lower Backache
37+3 weeks pregnant. Have had menstrual like cramping for the past 3 days with lower backache and goes down my thighs when I walk. Today now I was extremely restless last night maybe got 3 hours of sleep, but then a huge ball of energy until now when I m ready to crash from just moving around as much as possible all day. Last checked my cervix on Monday in L&D when I had extreme back pains and told me I was in the first stage of labor and was 3.5cm dilated 80% effaced and -1 engaged. Am I well on my way to having this baby or should I expect a few weeks still?
The pain that you are describing looks like labor pain. Please check to see if your abdomen is becoming tense intermittently along with pain. If yes than this is labor pain and you must go to your doctor /midwife for an evaluation. Your cervix and the level of babies head on Monday were very favorable for labor.
For similar women in my clinic, I advise a daily visit to check for presence of labor pains and also the babies heart to ensure that things are going fine. Also I advice to keep a watch on the babies kicks, and if they are more than 3 in an hour or 10 in 12 hours, things are most likely fine.
Labor may begin at any time after 37 weeks so more frequent visits are needed.
Hope I was able to help you. Thanks for using Health Care Magic. I would be happy to answer any further queries. Have a nice day. Dr. Madhuri Bagde Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist
