36 Weeks Pregnant. Abdominal Cramping With Severe Back Ache, Small Leak Of Clear Vaginal Fluid, Heavy Discharge. History Of Being Treated For Infection. Normal?

good day. i am having inconsistent abdominal cramping accompanied by severe back ache. i was treated for an infection 3 weeks ago but am not sure if it has completely cleared out. i was told my baby would come any day now, but it has been three weeks and still i wait. i am 36 weeks now. i have had a small leak of vaginal fluid which was clear in color and an overwhelming amount of vaginal discharge. do you think everything is fine with my baby? i also have severe vaginal pain, however it has gotten better since i was treated for the infection. i was only given penicillin and no explanation of what the infection was or what could have caused it. i am worried it will affect my baby's health and wonder if i might be in labor without knowledge. please help!

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.
If it is just a vaginal discharge then it is less likely that your baby is at risk .If your water bag has ruptured ( God forbid) then your baby may be at risk of infection. You should ask your treating Obstetrician what exactly is the diagnosis. Only then we can comment upon the possible risk to the unborn baby. You may go for an ultrasound, to see the health status, growth of your baby & to see the amount of fluid in your water bag. If all is fine you may relax.
Wish you all the best.
