hi. if ur wife z EDD is 24th May she is already 38 weeks..! a 38 weeks preg is considered full term pregnancy with out any risk of prematurity. so if her gynec is considering an elective c section then its the right time. however, there is always a chance of normal delivery if the cord is loosely encircling the neck. with a v strict fetal kick count { by the pt. at home }n a v vigilant fetal monitoring in hospital during labour one can wait for a normal labour to progress and be ready for an intervention (c-section)at any point of time if fetal distress appears on fetal monitor. wait for normal delivery only if there is a continuous fetal monitor facility an a 24 hrs c section facility available in ur booked hospital.best of luck!
