27 Year Old With Hair Loss. Andronagen Prescribed. Can I Use Rogaine?

sir i am 27 year old male starting thinning my hair in frontal area.i consulted a doctor and he prescribed androanagen 1 per day. i used it for the last 3 months still my hair is thinning.now i heard about rogaine 5%.can i use it along with androanagen.does it have any side effect for using both together.does it prevent further hair fall

Hello,

Causes of hair loss/thinning of hair are:
1. Environmental factors
2. Stress
3. Deficiency of certain minerals, vitamins & amino acids in diet. e.g. Iron, zinc, Vit B complex, lysine.
4. Hormonal factors. e.g. Thyroxine
5. Any incidence of surgery, shock, etc.

Management includes:
1. Treating the underlying cause
2. Avoidance of stress
3. Dietary modifications
4. Minoxidil solution (rogaine 5%) to be applied locally to stimulate the hair follicles
5. Multivitamin & multi mineral supplementation (androanagen)

There is no harm in using both androanagen & rogaine 5% together.
But these medications have to be used regularly under the guidance of a Dermatologist, as hair loss tends to return on stoppage of these medications.
