my son is 19 months old and is showing signs of desquamation in his fingertips. Is there a way to treat this or just let it heal on its own?

Toddlers skin desquamation occurs as they play & in turn get infected due to surroundings.Just help him wash his hands & mop dry ;if required just you can apply vaselin or moisturizer. If there is redness or looks bad you can apply an ointment containing antibiotic/steroid/antifungal only at night then wash in morning.
