16 year old diagnosed with thyroid problem. Fatigue, weight gain. Are these related?

Hi, I m a 16 year old female, and I have been diagnosed by a Holistic therapist with a Thyroid problem. It s nothing too serious from what she told me, but my Thyroid lacks Iodine , and so I was placed on pills that contained Iodine. I haven t visited with that doctor since the first week of December, and she is no longer availible for me to reach. I ve have been putting on weight, and I ve also experienced fatigue for at least the past eeek. Could these symptoms be traces back to my Thyroid? And if so, is there any other additional advice that you could give me to help! Thanks for your time! -Lindsay
