My 16month old has had a low grade fever for 40 days now. He has been to his pediatrician 3 times and I took him for a 2nd opinion somewhere else. He got his Polio shot on the 12th of May, that night started with a low grade fever and very cranky. 1 week later had coxsackie for a week. A week after that I took him back to the dr s because he still had a fever and she checked him out and said he shows no sign of the virus anymore. 1 week after that I brought him back and she did blood work and his wbc count was a little higher than normal and he must be fighting off some kind of virus. I took him for a second opinion a few days later and they said to call back in 2 weeks if the fever persists. That was a week ago. He still has a 101.5 fever and I am starting to get very worried that something is wrong. He has high pitched crying and just yesterday he started sneezing but I don t understand why he s had a fever for 40 days.
