15 Month Old Child, Swollen Left Eye, Redness, Could Be Bite Or Bump. Will Benedryl Help?

Hi. My 15 month old woke up with a grossly swollen left eye. It is red, swollen shut, and the redness extends toward his left ear. Yesterday afternoon we did notice what could have either been a bite or a bump from his 2 year old sister. Just wondering if I should dose with Benedryl or just wait and see if it continues to swell?
