11 Month Old, Low Grade Fever, Runny Nose, Slight Cough. Taking Motrin, Tylenol. Suggestions?

My 11 month old has a low grade fever (alternating Motrin and Tylenol) with a runny nose and slight cough. I can't send him to daycare due to the fever but don't feel like I need the dr. I am still getting over viral laryngitis. Should I take him in or just continue what I am doing? Also was goin to start men treatments if his cough got worse

Hi,

Thank you for your query.

Your son has contracted infection from you as you are having laryngitis. You can certainly wait for a day or two. You may have to start with some decongestant cough syrup in case cough increases.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your son an early recovery.

Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

It is always dangerous to self treat your baby.

There are certain danger sings when you should take your baby to hospital.
They are
poor feeding
vomiting
loss of consciousness
lethargy

So monitor for the danger signs.
Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
