Question: what is the dosage for valetex for oral cold sores. starting before a procedure to prevent outbreak
I am having my lips tattooed

the office i am having my procedure done at
recommends Valtrex. they say it works best. i am prone to cold sores.
Sometimes I get them after dental work

Hi,

The valtrex dose should be 2 grams twice daily for 1 day taken 12 hours apart. Valtrex is efficient in treating and preventing cold sores but lip tattoo causes significant irritation which might lead to development of cold sores despite valtrex but in a milder form..
