Brief Answer:
Findings suggests few small metabolically active lymph nodes in mediastinum

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for writing to Healthcaremagic,
I've gone through your query and understand your concern,

Your findings suggests few small metabolically active lymph nodes in mediastinum.
It may be due to many causes like infection, inflammation etc.
It is good that there are no parenchymal lesions which excludes malignant causes.
You are rightly suggested for repeat scan to assess its progression. Its size is same as compared to previous scan.
It is not a very significant finding.

Other major finding is presence of a calculus in gall bladder.

Hope I have answered your query.

Thanks for your reply. The personal has renal cell carcinoma and had radical nephrectomy. Post nephrectomy the PET SCAN had the following findings.

FDG avid (SUV XXXXXXX 3.88) right lower paratracheal node measuring 1.1x 0.8 cm is seen.

FDFG avid (SUV XXXXXXX 3.19) subcentimetric prevascular node is seen.

Subcentimetric subcarinal node is seen with low level FDG avidity.

A non FDG avid calcified prevascular node is also seen.

My question to you is do you suggest we should consult oncologist or any doctor? Please advise should we worry about FDG avidity ?

Brief Answer:
You definitely need evaluation by a oncologist.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for writing to Healthcaremagic,
I've gone through your query and understand your concern,

You definitely need evaluation by a oncologist.
But there are no signs of cancer at other places in scan.

As we discussed earlier, metabolically active lymph nodes may be due to many reasons.
As you have history of renal carcinoma,it is important to evaluate by a oncologist.
Though SUV value doesn't guide accurately to differentiate between benign or malignant lesions, but its low value may be in our favour.

Hope I have answered your query.
